Prof. Antoni Jankowski, PhD, DSc. Eng.
Prof. Antoni Jankowski is graduated from the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology, where he received a master's degree in mechanical engineering and a PhD. After graduating, he was employed at the Institute of Aviation successively as a designer, assistant, assistant professor, associate professor of the Institute of Aviation and full professor. He completed post-graduate courses: "Fundamentals of fluid dynamics"; "Mathematical statistics"; "Selected problems of mathematical statistics" at the Polish Academy of Sciences. The postdoctoral degree (DSc.) in technical sciences on mechanical engineering he obtained at the Faculty of Work Machines of the Poznan University of Technology, where in 2013 he also obtained the academic title of professor of technical sciences.
At the Institute of Aviation, he was also the head of the laboratory, deputy head of the research department, and head of the Piston Engines Research Department. Since 2009, he has also been employed at the Air Force Institute of Technology, successively as the chief research and technical specialist, associate professor and full professor. He was and is a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Aviation, the Air Force Institute of Technology, currently at the Science Commission of the Scientific Council of AFIT.
He is a supervisor of six completed and two unfinished doctoral theses and a reviewer of 10 doctoral and 20 master theses at Warsaw University of Technology and the Military University of Technology as well he is a reviewer of several postdoctoral theses and a reviewer of professor's procedure. He is also a reviewer over 200 articles for scientific journals.
He had academic training and had lectures at many scientific centres, among others at: Warsaw University of Technology, Lublin University of Technology, University of Wisconsin at Madison, University of West London, University of Wisconsin at Madison, University of California Berkeley, Aoyama Gakuin University Tokyo, Musashi Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Seoul National University, Seoul, Slovak Technical University Bratislava and Toyota Central Research and Development Labs Nagoya, Nagoya Institute of Technology, National Traffic Safety and Environment Laboratory Tokyo.
He was a director of many research projects, a topic director of government project and a initiator of international conferences on powertrain and transport means, which also perform a training function for students and PhD students from Poland and abroad, among others from Great Britain, Slovakia and Slovenia. Hungary, the USA and Japan.
He was a member of the Combustion Section of the Thermodynamics and Combustion Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences and an expert in the Mechatronics Section of the Mechanical Engineering Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is a founding member of the Polish Institute of Combustion and the Polish Scientific Society of Automotive Engineering. He is the vice-president of the Polish Society of Automotive Engineers since 2006. In addition, he was a member of the Editorial Committee of the International Journal of Mechanical Engineering, Isparta, a member of the Editorial Board of the Automotive Archives, a member of the European Automobile Engineers' Cooperation EAEC; a member of the Editorial Committee of the International Journal of Automotive Engineering, a member of the Editorial Committee of the Journal of KONBiN; Vice-chairman of the Editorial Board Polish Maritime Research.
He was a Polish delegate to the International Council on Combustion Engines (CIMAC), a member of the Scientific Committee of the CIMAC Congress in London and Interlaken. He was the author of papers and publications of the World Congress of CIMAC, FISITA and ICAS. He is the Polish delegate to the International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies FISITA, where he also performs duties at the FISITA Education Committee. One of his papers was published in 2007 in the world's collection of the world's best publications in the field of motoring ("the best of the best"). He made 18 research works for the BOEING Company. He has carried out 3 implementation projects concerning the supply of electricity to 3 distant places in Alaska, referring to towns with 200, 1000 and 4000 inhabitants. He is a laureate of numerous prizes of the Minister of Industry, Science, University Faculties, State and Ministry awards.
He was a director and participant in research projects, as well as a member of the Section Ministry of Science and Higher Education and a reviewer of research projects. In scientific achievements, he has over 400 research works, including over 200 articles in domestic and foreign journals, and 17 patents. In addition, it has over 200 research studies, 60 implemented designs, devices and technologies, and 132 results of scientific and research work, which have been implemented in industry and practice.
